In terms of the game development, this week we did a lot of tweaking to the base mechanics of the game. The change I like the most is that players can both move and attack every turn. Being able to choose one or the other really felt wrong while playing, and it also made it so the game not only took longer, but there was no real way to plan for encounters.
In terms of art development this week, I made some progress on the cards.
The layout of the face cards is completed. Each card is colored based on the class it is from. Rogues are green, Mages are blue, Fighters are red, and Clerics are yellow.
Each card also has a design near the border based on the class. Of all the cards, the fighter is currently my favorite. And while I plan on leaving the designs and layouts the way they are for now, I plan to come back and make slight changes to them later.
For instance, the spikes on the rogue card do not look as good as I would have originally liked. And I would like all the cards to look as awesome as the fighter cards do.
